Prerequisite for Crying for mercy of Krishna

Once i was traveling from bus to home
The bus stopped to take in passengers I saw a young woman with her child aged 5 or 6
it so happened that the young woman go in the bus but the child remained behind
The child was distracted by something & he forgot to hold the hand of his mother.
He was looking in the other direction where the object had attracted him.

Just then the door of the bus closed & it started moving .
The mother realised in a moment that she had left the boy So she shouted to driver " Stop my son is down there"
The bus stopped & the mother ran out & brought her child . The child had a frightened look on his face.

As they settled she asked him " What you would done if i hadn't come to take you?"
the child said with innocent face " I would CRY "

+++++++++++++++
So unless we Feel ------ LOST
we won't CRY

Below song written by Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur clearly explains

how we have lost in this world after temporary pleasure & disappointing adventure

1) I forsook You, O Lord, and came to this world of pain and sorrow. Now I submit my tale of woe at Your lotus feet.
2) While still in the unbearable fetters of my mother’s womb, I saw You before me You revealed Yourself but briefly and then abandoned this poor servant of Yours.
3) At that moment I swore to worship You after taking birth; but birth came, and with it the network of wordly illusion which robbed me of all good sense.
4) As a fondled son in the lap of relatives, I passed my time smiling and laughing. My parents’ affection helped me to forget the pangs of birth, and I thought the world was very nice.
5) Day by day I grew and soon began playing with other boys. Shortly my powers of understanding emerged. I read and studied my lessons incessantly.
6) Travelling from place to place, proud of my education, I grew wealthy and maintained my family with undivided attention. O Lord Hari, I forgot You!
7) Now in old age, Bhaktivinoda is sad. He weeps. I failed to worship You, O Lord, and instead passed my life in vain. What will be my fate now.

The Magic of Spiritual master

Some are looking for magic or miracle to happen when one accept a spiritual master .
they think that now they shall get Krishna easily !?

Well thats TRUE !!
but Krishna has his own terms to give himself to YOU that we have satisfy.

So what does the Spiritual master do !?
What is the magic of Guru?

The magic of guru is that He gives a drop of mercy from the spiritual world
He makes us experience that supreme pleasure that we are looking for
in order that we become more & more eager to get it & return back to spiritual world.

Some simply take that happiness & be satisfied & turn back to the illusory pleasures of the material world & then keep thinking what is the use of initiation ? simply a change in name!?

who can understand the mercy of guru ?
well only a grateful person can understand the mercy of guru
He understands that his guru has accepted him as his disciple with all his faults
everywhere in this material world nobody accepts an unqualified person
everyones asks for qualification but GURU who is a Vaishnava he accepts you regardless of your qualification
He accepts simply by seeing your sincerity ,struggles & despair in surrendering to Krishna.
This is the mercy of Guru

a proud or doubtful person cannot understand this!!

what are the symptoms of a grateful person who has experienced that one drop of spiritual bliss ?
what does he do after that ?
It is explained in the song below

he Begs to get purified he cannot tolerate the 6 enemies in his heart which are torturing him & inhibiting him to surrender to Krishna
He begs for that one drop of mercy & faith & he runs after his Guru crying out KRISHNA KRISHNA !!!
He becomes more eager to get KRISHNA --- that is the real symptom of a grateful person.

TRANSLATION
1) O venerable Vaisnava. O ocean of mercy, be merciful unto your servant. Give me the shade of your lotus feet and purify me. I hold on to your lotus feet.
2) Teach me to control my six passions; rectify my six faults, bestow upon me the six qualities, and offer unto me the six kinds of holy association.*
3) I do not find the strength to carry on alone the sankirtana of the holy name of Hari. Please bless me by giving me just one drop of faith with which to obtain the great treasure of the holy name of Krsna.
4) Krsna is yours. You have the power to give Him to me. I am simply your servant running behind you shouting, "Krsna! Krsna!"
REMARKS/EXTRA INFORMATION:
*The six passions are those pertaining to words, the mind, anger, the tongue, the stomach and the genitals. The six faults are overeating, attachment to material things, inability to follow regulative principles, sense gratification, useless idle talk, and impure habits. The six positive qualities are enthusiasm in practicing devotional service, firm faith in devotional processes, a strong desire to attain prema-bhakti, a favorable service attitude, avoidance of non-devotees, and appreciation of the company of devotees. The six methods of association are to go to an assembly of devotees, to invite devotees into one's home, to discuss and hear devotional topics, to take the maha-prasada of devotees and to offer maha-prasada to devotees.

And this shall be my Attitude in spiritual life after getting one drop
mercy from my guru.
I pray to Radha madan mohan that i donot become complacent to this mercy.
I shall beg from guru & cry before him to get KRISHNA.
- Vrajendra kumar das.

I received a very nice quote from HH Bir Krishna Das Goswami Maharaj on the same lines............
To become a disciple means to be disciplined by the words and the desire of the spiritual master. It is a very simple thing. It does not mean that you get your magic spiritual name at the time of initiation and then you are the official member of the organization... but it means basically that one has to internalize that discipline within one's heart.

Tears of a child , woman & devotee

Tears of a child--------
It is said a cry of child can be heard only by a mother.
once few devotees were talking with each other & suddenly a mataji truned back & started
hurriedly walking to a room .
Others could not understand this.Only when she opened the room they could hear the cry of her baby child.

Tears of a Woman-------
Prabhupad said "Tears of a woman are very powerful"
They can even bent very strong MEN
like Kaikeya who cried to bend Dasarath Maharaj to abandon Lord Rama & she was successful in that.

Tears of a DevOtee--------
Srila Gour Govinda Swami said, “I have opened a ‘crying school’ here in Bhubaneswar.
Unless we cry for Krishna, we cannot get His mercy.”

Genuine tears are heard by The Lord & He is bended to help & save us

But to cry for Lord is very difficult for a person who is still attracted to this world.
So Bhaktivinod Thakur wrote this prayer for us.

dhana jana āra, kobitā-sundarī,
bolibo cāhi deho-sukha-karī
janme-janme dāo, ohe gaurahari!
ahaitukī bhakti caraṇe tomār

When will I cry out that I have no longer any desire for wealth and followers, poetry and beautiful women, all of which are meant just for bodily pleasure? O Gaura Hari! Give me causeless devotional service [bhakti] to your lotus feet, birth after birth.

kādiyā kādiyā jānāiba duḥkha-grāma

saḿsāra-anala haite māgiba viśrāma

Weeping and weeping, I will understand the real nature of this abode of misery, and I will beg for relief from the blazing fire of this material world.

So when shall we cry
- When we understand our miserable position in this world
then we can attract the mercy of the Vaishnavas & the Lord.

When one is free from all ten of these offenses in chanting the holy name of God, he develops the ecstatic bodily features called pulakāśru. Pulaka means "symptoms of happiness," and aśru means "tears in the eyes." The symptoms of happiness and tears in the eyes must appear in a person who has chanted the holy name offenselessly. Here in this verse it is stated that those who have actually developed the symptoms of happiness and tears in the eyes by chanting the glories of the Lord are eligible to enter the kingdom of God. In the Caitanya-caritāmṛta it is said that if one does not develop these symptoms while chantingHare Kṛṣṇa, it is to be understood that he is still offensive. Caitanya-caritāmṛta suggests a nice remedy in this connection. There it is said in verse 31, Chapter Eight, of Ādi-līlā, that if anyone takes shelter of Lord Caitanya and just chants the holy name of the Lord, Hare Kṛṣṇa, he becomes freed from all offenses.

So chanting offenselessly is the key to genuinue crying
Prabhupad explains the easy way to obtain this is to chant the holy name of Lord Gouranga & Lord Nityanand

CC adi lila 8.31
But if one only chants, with some slight faith, the holy names of Lord Caitanya and Nityānanda, very quickly he is cleansed of all offenses. Thus as soon as he chants the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, he feels the ecstasy of love for God.
PURPORT
Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura remarks in this connection that if one takes shelter of Lord Śrī CaitanyaMahāprabhu and Nityānanda, follows Their instructions to become more tolerant than the tree and humbler than the grass, and in this way chants the holy name of the Lord, very soon he achieves the platform of transcendental loving service to the Lord, and tears appear in his eyes. There are offenses to be considered in chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, but there are no such considerations in chanting the names of Gaura-Nityānanda. Therefore, if one chants the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra but his life is still full of sinful activities, it will be very difficult for him to achieve the platform of loving service to the Lord. But if in spite of being an offender one chants the holy names of Gaura-Nityānanda, he is very quickly freed from the reactions to his offenses. Therefore, one should first approach Lord Caitanya and Nityānanda, or worship Guru-Gaurāńga, and then come to the stage of worshiping Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa.
