Finding ones TRUE identity

Everyone is trying to find its TRUE identity
There are asking questions whether am i a man , woman , child ?
or whether am i politician,social worker ?
or whether am i indian , american or australian ?
or whether am i this body , mind or intelligence ?

And why these identities are ending? are temporary ? & not satisfying to heart ??

One can see, experience his identity by looking into the mirror of his Heart
but not in a DArK room there should be LIGHT ie LIGHT of GOD to see our TRUE identity .
& then the mirror also should be CLEAN else what we see again is still far from REALITY

So 2 things are required
1) LIGHT of GOD
2) Heart should be clean
& that is easily achieved by Chanting Holy name which brings the LIght & cleans the Heart
Thus ones TRUE identity is Revealed.

Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu revealed that the true identity of every soul is Eternal servant of Lord Krishna lets practically realize it by Chanting
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare

Preaching to the Unborn

1) Preaching to the Unborn
As we all are observing in our temple the small kids (little weekend warriors) namely Gitapriya,Dhriti,Gaurangi & many small children developing good culture & devotion to the Lord at such a young age .
One of the main reasons of their great fortune is their GOOD mothers who took all trouble
& pain & great enthusiasm & visited temple & kirtans & srimad bhagavatam lectures & reading when the child was in their womb . And the result is these children show great attraction for temple environment & kirtans
especially when HG Vaisesika pr plays the mrindanga .They seem to look at it with great wonder & ask
themselves a question "WOW !!!! i had heard it before" just like Parikshit maharaj searched for the Lord whom
he had seen while in the womb.

So I saw a pregnant chinese woman coming our way.I showed her a book "This book is on YOGA "
She said "You can see i cannot do it in this situation"
"But this yoga is for the mind also here is the mantra
Hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare
hare ram hare ram ram ram hare hare it delivers the mind & relieves us from all stress.
please Chant it anytime anyplace"
She took the card & walked her way.i said to myself "The mantra will have its Effect."

I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is Śyāmasundara, KṛṣṇaHimself with inconceivable innumerable attributes, whom the pure devotees see in their heart of hearts with the eye of devotion tinged with the salve of love.

Srila Prabhupad said "They say that you don't see Kåñëa. How they can say you don't see, if they don't see? Just like you may have a lover and when you think of that lover you see, but the other person doesn't see your lover. They cannot see that you do not see Kåñëa. A man in Bengal was a writer and there was an accident in front of his window. He did not see because he was absorbed in writing. We are absorbed in Kåñëa, we can see Him." Abstract from Purport by HDG Bhaktisiddhanta SWami Srila Prabhupad

Nowadays also the devotees see Him in Vraja in their hearts, saturated with devotion although they do not see Him with their eyes. The eye of devotion is nothing but the eye of the pure unalloyed spiritual self of the jīva. The form ofKṛṣṇa is visible to that eye in proportion to its purification by the practice of devotion. When the devotion of the neophyte reaches the stage of bhāva-bhakti the pure eye of that devotee is tinged with the salve of love by the grace of Kṛṣṇa, which enables him to see Kṛṣṇa face to face. The phrase "in their hearts" means Kṛṣṇa is visible in proportion as their hearts are purified by the practice of devotion. The sum and substance of this śloka is that the form of Kṛṣṇa, who is Śyāmasundara, Naṭavara (Best Dancer), Muralīdhara (Holder of the Flute) and Tribhańga (Triple-bending), is not a mental concoction but is transcendental, and is visible with the eye of the soul of the devotee under trance.

ajitātmopasāditaiḥ

TRANSLATION

One should be satisfied with whatever he achieves by his previous destiny, for discontent can never bring happiness. A person who is not self-controlled will not be happy even with possessing the three worlds.

PURPORT

If happiness is the ultimate goal of life, one must be satisfied with the position in which he is placed by providence. This instruction is also given by Prahlāda Mahārāja:

sukham aindriyakaḿ daityā

deha-yogena dehinām

sarvatra labhyate daivād

yathā duḥkham ayatnataḥ

"My dear friends born of demoniac families, the happiness perceived with reference to the sense objects by contact with the body can be obtained in any form of life, according to one's past fruitive activities. Such happiness is automatically obtained without endeavor, just as we obtain distress." (Bhāg. 7.6.3) This philosophy is perfect in regard to obtaining happiness.

Real happiness is described in Bhagavad-gītā (6.21):

sukham ātyantikaḿ yat tad

buddhi-grāhyam atīndriyam

vetti yatra na caivāyaḿ

sthitaś calati tattvataḥ

"In the spiritually joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness and enjoys himself through transcendental senses. Established thus, one never departs from the truth." One has to perceive happiness by the supersenses. The supersenses are not the senses of the material elements. Every one of us is a spiritual being (ahaḿ brahmāsmi), and every one of us is an individual person. Our senses are now covered by material elements, and because of ignorance we consider the material senses that cover us to be our real senses. The real senses, however, are within the material covering. Dehino'sminyathā dehe: [Bg. 2.13] within the covering of the material elements are the spiritual senses. Sarvopādhi-vinirmuktaḿtat-paratvena nirmalam: [Cc. Madhya 19.170] when the spiritual senses are uncovered, by these senses we can be happy. Satisfaction of the spiritual senses is thus described: hṛṣīkeṇa hṛṣīkeśa-sevanaḿ bhaktir ucyate. When the senses are engaged in devotional service to Hṛṣīkeśa, then the senses are completely satisfied. Without this superior knowledge of sense gratification, one may try to satisfy his material senses, but happiness will never be possible. One may increase his ambition for sense gratification and even achieve what he desires for the gratification of his senses, but because this is on the material platform, he will never achieve satisfaction and contentment.

According to brahminical culture, one should be content with whatever he obtains without special endeavor and should cultivate spiritual consciousness. Then he will be happy. The purpose of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is to spread this understanding. People who do not have scientific spiritual knowledge mistakenly think that the members of the Kṛṣṇaconsciousness movement are escapists trying to avoid material activities. In fact, however, we are engaged in real activities for obtaining the ultimate happiness in life. If one is not trained to satisfy the spiritual senses and continues in material sense gratification, he will never obtain happiness that is eternal and blissful. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (5.5.1) therefore recommends:

tapo divyaḿ putrakā yena sattvaḿ

śuddhyed yasmād brahma-saukhyaḿ tv anantam

One must practice austerity so that his existential position will be purified and he will achieve unlimited blissful life.

Combats in Yoga

Modes of Combat
Combat in
1) Mode of Ignorance is ................Simply a disturbance & madness
O son of Bharata, know that the mode of darkness, born of ignorance, is the delusion of all embodied living entities. The results of this mode are madness, indolence and sleep, which bind the conditioned soul.

2) Mode of Passion is .......... For fame & fruitive actions
The mode of passion is born of unlimited desires and longings, O son of Kuntī, and because of this the embodied living entity is bound to material fruitive actions.

3) Mode of goodness is ........... Combat in this mode is done with oneself....a fight with own mind & false ego .......... to control on our own mind & senses.
& the result is .............
The manifestations of the mode of goodness can be experienced when all the gates of the body are illuminated by knowledge.

Here one sees the self as master .
In the above modes he is driven by his senses & mind to madness or fame.

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.2.21

bhidyate hṛdaya-granthiś
chidyante sarva-saḿśayāḥ
kṣīyante cāsya karmāṇi
dṛṣṭa evātmanīśvare

TRANSLATION

Thus the knot in the heart is pierced, and all misgivings are cut to pieces. The chain of fruitive actions is terminated when one sees the self as master.

Abstract from Purport
This enlightenment perfectly enables the devotee to distinguish spirit from matter because the knot of spirit and matter is untied by the Lord. This knot is called ahańkāra, and it falsely obliges a living being to become identified with matter. As soon as this knot is loosened, therefore, all the clouds of doubt are at once cleared off. One sees his master and fully engages himself in the transcendental loving service of the Lord, making a full termination of the chain of fruitive action.

Bhagavad gita 2.14

mātrā-sparśās tu kaunteya
śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkha-dāḥ
āgamāpāyino 'nityās
tāḿs titikṣasva bhārata

TRANSLATION

O son of Kuntī, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception,
O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.
PURPORT

In the proper discharge of duty, one has to learn to tolerate nonpermanent appearances and disappearances of happiness and distress. According to Vedic injunction, one has to take his bath early in the morning even during the month of Māgha (January-February). It is very cold at that time, but in spite of that a man who abides by the religious principles does not hesitate to take his bath. Similarly, a woman does not hesitate to cook in the kitchen in the months of May and June, the hottest part of the summer season. One has to execute his duty in spite of climatic inconveniences. Similarly, to fight is the religious principle of the kṣatriyas, and although one has to fight with some friend or relative, one should not deviate from his prescribed duty. One has to follow the prescribed rules and regulations of religious principles in order to rise up to the platform of knowledge, because by knowledge and devotion only can one liberate himself from the clutches of māyā (illusion).
The two different names of address given to Arjuna are also significant. To address him as Kaunteya signifies his great blood relations from his mother's side; and to address him as Bhārata signifies his greatness from his father's side. From both sides he is supposed to have a great heritage. A great heritage brings responsibility in the matter of proper discharge of duties; therefore, he cannot avoid fighting.

How to experience Krishna as a Person??

The answer is that When Krishna wants to show his personal form then only one can see Krishna in Person , experience Krishna as a person There is a process , procedures , apparatus ,observation to attract Lords mercy same as Narada Muni did in http://vedabase.net/sb/1/6/21/en1

Below are some sections of scriptures which explain how to see krishna personally & experience that he is a PERSON.

Prahlada Maharaja said: Hearing and chanting about the transcendental holy name, form, qualities, paraphernalia and pastimes of Lord Vishnu, remembering them, serving the lotus feet of the Lord, offering the Lord respectful worship with sixteen types of paraphernalia, offering prayers to the Lord, becoming His servant, considering the Lord one's best friend, and surrendering everything unto Him (in other words, serving Him with the body, mind and words) -- these nine processes are accepted as pure devotional service. One who has dedicated his life to the service of Krishna through these nine methods should be understood to be the most learned person, for he has acquired complete knowledge.

So the process is to sufficiently

1) sufficiently Hear First to the extent that you automatically 2) Glorify them constantly 3) & remember his qualities , holy name, form, lilas 4) then serve his lotus feet 5) do diety worship 6) offer prayers 7) become his servant 8)consider Krishna ur best friend 9)surrender everything to him

This shall let one see the Lord.

O Narada [the Lord spoke], I regret that during this lifetime you will not be able to see Me anymore. Those who are incomplete in service and who are not completely free from all material taints can hardly see Me.

Purport

By HDG Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupad

PURPORT

The Personality of Godhead is described in the Bhagavad-gita as the most pure, the Supreme and the Absolute Truth. There is no trace of a tinge of materiality in His person, and thus one who has the slightest tinge of material affection cannot approach Him. The beginning of devotional service starts from the point when one is freed from at least two forms of material modes, namely the mode of passion and the mode of ignorance. The result is exhibited by the signs of being freed from kama(lust) and lobha (covetousness). That is to say, one must be freed from the desires for sense satisfaction and avarice for sense gratification. The balanced mode of nature is goodness. And to be completely freed from all material tinges is to become free from the mode of goodness also. To search the audience of God in a lonely forest is considered to be in the mode of goodness. One can go out into the forest to attain spiritual perfection, but that does not mean that one can see the Lord personally there. One must be completely freed from all material attachment and be situated on the plane of transcendence, which alone will help the devotee get in personal touch with the Personality of Godhead. The best method is that one should live at a place where the transcendental form of the Lord is worshiped. The temple of the Lord is a transcendental place, whereas the forest is a materially good habitation. A neophyte devotee is always recommended to worship the Deity of the Lord (arcana) rather than go into the forest to search out the Lord. Devotional service begins from the process of arcana, which is better than going out in the forest. In his present life, which is completely freed from all material hankerings, Sri Narada Muni does not go into the forest, although he can turn every place into Vaikuntha by his presence only. He travels from one planet to another to convert men, gods, Kinnaras, Gandharvas, rishis, munis and all others to become devotees of the Lord. By his activities he has engaged many devotees like Prahlada Maharaja, Dhruva Maharaja and many others in the transcendental service of the Lord. A pure devotee of the Lord, therefore, follows in the footsteps of the great devotees like Narada and Prahlada and engages his whole time in glorifying the Lord by the process of kirtana. Such a preaching process is transcendental to all material qualities.

Realisation of CHAD

A chapter a Day

ie- One chapter of Gita Everyday

At one point it looked like a mount everest task!!
but now i am addicted to it .I cannot sleep without having my CHAD done .

"If one wants to get forgiven of offenses done while diety worship
then one should chant one chapter of Gita"

I feel very happy & joyous whenever i do CHAD. We commit many offenses
through out the day & while chanting .These offenses burden us & CHAD helps
to remove these burdens.

**********Realisation from Doing CHAD *********
---"Chanting is like carving a Diety of Sound so it is also like a diety worship. "
I feel nice to read the Bhagavad gita chapter after completing my 16 rounds

--- makes me feel happy & light from burdens of offenses.

--- makes me develop relationship with Lord Krishna through Gita , listening to his words.

--- helped me replace my lower tendencies of sense-gratification & lead a regulated life.

I am grateful to HG Vaisesika Pr who inspired me to do CHAD.

Cheating religions

What does cheating religion really means ??

Today in the class i got a realisation what does it mean to be a cheating religion !!

Dhruva Maharaj when he saw the Lord Bhagavatam 4.9.3

tad-darśanenāgata-sādhvasaḥ kṣitāv
avandatāńgaḿ vinamayya daṇḍavat
dṛgbhyāḿ prapaśyan prapibann ivārbhakaś

TRANSLATION
When Dhruva Mahārāja saw his Lord just in front of him, he was greatly agitated and offered Him obeisances and respect. He fell flat before Him like a rod and became absorbed in love of Godhead. Dhruva Mahārāja, in ecstasy, looked upon the Lord as if he were drinking the Lord with his eyes, kissing the lotus feet of the Lord with his mouth, and embracing the Lord with his arms.

He went into ecstacy. The Lord face to face brought him such great happiness that he lamented for the material desire for which he worswhipped Lord .(He wanted a kingdom greater than his father).

Srimad Bhagavatam 4.9.31
aho bata mamānātmyaḿ
manda-bhāgyasya paśyata
bhava-cchidaḥ pāda-mūlaḿ
gatvā yāce yad antavat
TRANSLATION
Alas, just look at me! I am so unfortunate. I approached the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who can immediately cut the chain of the repetition of birth and death, but still, out of my foolishness, I prayed for things which are perishable.

he was lamenting for the material desire that he had .This was his prayer.
Srimad Bhagavatam 4.9.9
nūnaḿ vimuṣṭa-matayas tava māyayā te
ye tvāḿ bhavāpyaya-vimokṣaṇam anya-hetoḥ
arcanti kalpaka-taruḿ kuṇapopabhogyam
icchanti yat sparśajaḿ niraye 'pi nṝṇām
TRANSLATION
Persons who worship You simply for the sense gratification of this bag of skin are certainly influenced by Your illusory energy. In spite of having You, who are like a desire tree and are the cause of liberation from birth and death, foolish persons, such as me, desire benedictions from You for sense gratification, which is available even for those who live in hellish conditions.

He experienced The personal presence of Lord to be much much greater than sense-gratification or any material possession.

I for the first time understood the example which Prabhupad always gives of
"The lost son of a millionaire"
one may give the lost son any kind of benefit or keep him at his home & feed him he is not doing ANY good for the lost son.
The best is to return him back to his Father where he can live completely happy.

Similarly varous religions give teach to pray & worship for any material benefit & try to be happy within the 14 worlds is not doing any good for the LOST Soul.
These religion are simply cheating the LOST souls from his real destination.

This is confirmed by Dhruva Maharaj who became so happy in the personal presence of the Lord that he felt his material desire is simply pieces of Glass.

Thus any religion who is not teaching to go back home back to Godhead is a CHEATING religion.
